Our aim is to worship God together, and

to be a centre of spiritual support;

to carry on the work of Christ;

to spread the Christian message.

St Edmund’s Church serves a parish covering South Chingford and the northernmost part of Walthamstow. It is located in Larkswood Road by the Chingford Mount shopping centre.

The Church was designed by N.F. Cachemaille-Day, one of the most influential British architects of the 1930’s. It is a listed building being a prime example of his architectural style. Its harsh uncompromising grey exterior intentionally contrasts with the open light spaciousness of the inside.

St Edmund’s is part of the Church of England – the nation’s church. All are welcome irrespective of background and belief.

St Edmund’s works closely with South Chingford Methodist Church, the South Chingford Congregational Church, the Roman Catholic Church of Christ the King, and St John’s Walthamstow. Together we form Churches Together in South Chingford and Chapel End.
