Dedication
This Web Site was conceived and constructed by Fred
Setchfield, who died suddenly on 1 June 2001 shortly after the completion
of this site.
We dedicate this site to his memory in appreciation of the
hard work and enthusiasm he gave to this project.
Fred was a
long-standing member of St Edmund’s. He served as Churchwarden of the parish
for three separate terms spanning twelve years (1983-91; 1994-6; 1998-2000).
For many years, he served as a Sunday School teacher, and
was affectionately known, both then and long after by those he taught, as
“Uncle Fred.”
He was well-known both in the parish and in the wider area
for his infectious laugh and larger-than-life character.
While developing this site, Fred was assisted by an Adult Education
course run by the local borough. He composed a temporary page on this site as
an acknowledgement for its assistance. Below is a link to this page.
